I am a life-long Cincinnatian. I graduated from Xavier University in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations. After graduating, I worked for three years in the insurance industry, and eleven years in financial services. In 2006 I purchased and managed a small business. I received my Juris Doctor degree from Northern Kentucky University – Chase College of Law. I live with my family in Hyde Park.

Since practicing law is not my first career, my background and experience gives me a unique perspective as compared to other estate planning attorneys. My backgrounds in financial services and insurance give me valuable experience in areas that estate planning attorneys must understand. I have sold and serviced traditional consumer banking products and became familiar with the estate planning designations associated with these accounts. I was also involved with aspects of financial planning, including the sale and servicing of various investment products including mutual funds and insurance related investments. Additionally, owning and operating a small business separates me from other estate planning attorneys because I understand the challenges and perspective of small business owners in need of estate planning advice.

Another advantage of working in these areas is that I have many relationships with financial services, accounting, and insurance professionals. You may already have these relationships established and I am happy to work with them to ensure you have a comprehensive plan. If not, or if you would like to consider a change, I have long relationships with many experienced and trustworthy individuals who can help.

The work experience I have allows me to represent clients with more than just a legal perspective. Often, a client’s goals can be achieved without the need for in-depth estate planning.   My philosophy and experience allows me to consider and present all options available.
